I'm wired for adventure. While on a trip, I lament what it was like to explore new cities and jungles without google maps and all the technological hand-holding we get today.
I remember having a moment like this exploring Mexico city on a bike in 2009 before things got going with smartphones.
Where did all the wildness go?
Romance can make a fool out of us. We are always on a frontier. You can't even take the same vacation twice. You change and the places change.
The most potent landscapes are our inner worlds. Everyone is navigating through the bushes of their deeply personal jungles. Intersecting with others. Making attempts to explain what they're experiencing. Pointing out clues. Attempting to guide loved ones. Integrating societal changes.
It's a miracle that we can even cooperate around collective stories.
We attempt to take the paths others have taken before. It helps! Inevitably, we find ourselves on our own path. It may seem lonely until we experience ourselves as interconnected fibers. Helping to push together, often without a reference point, on a collective frontier. It requires trust, instincts, and consistent forward action. A true adventure.
TLDR on this ramble: Things are still plenty wild, folks!
I have two link shares today - maybe they'll lift your spirit! Let's travel to Brazil 🇧🇷
This album by the Brazilian artist Bruno Berle is stunning all the way through. I was on a quiet trip to the mountains, and I was discussing with a friend what the music may be about without knowing the lyrics. For me, it sounds like everything is falling apart, but it's beautiful while it's happening. It's sad but optimistic. I'm a sucker for all the major7 and minor7 chords. I hope you enjoy it as much as me!
I’m all about this guy, Joao (pronounced ja-wow. The brazilian name for John), who lives with a parrot, a deer, and a dog. It makes me happy to know he’s out there.
What to consider when launching a physical product?
I'm still working on this article to help friends who are considering launching a physical product. It’s for people who don't have any internet marketing experience but are coming to it from the direction of a product idea.
It seems like every point is a massive rabbit hole and I’m navigating what I should explain more. If you're one of the people interested in this topic, reply, and I'll give you commenter access on this google doc to ask questions!
With interest, I can make a course about a particular section of this while I’m in the throws of launching a product myself.
That’s all today friends! Take care out there and enjoy 🙂
I really enjoyed you sharing the 'Six Kinds of Loneliness' by Pema! She is great for sitting with hard feelings -- thanks, needed that this week :) More than you know <3
